CLAIM FOR DAMAGES
FRAUDULENT CONDUCT JUDGMENT FOR* PLAINTIFF. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, September 21. The hearing was. concluded, before Mr Justice Sim, of a case in which Arthur George Larking, retired naval officer, claimed -BXOOO damages from William Leonard Walker for alleged fraudulent misrepresentation of a wholesale fruit business in which the plaintiff was induced to invest. There was also a claim for £1416 16s 3d on behalf of W. L. Walker, Ltd., in liquidation, which was really an alternative claim. After reviewing the evidence, his Honour, in giving judgment for plaintiff for £IOOO, with costs, disbursements, and witness’s expenses, said there was a clear case of fraudulent conduct on the. of th?
