Mr King, who prosecuted," snid that in May, 1925, prisoner was nppointeil secretary to the sports ground of the London School of Economics nt New Malden. In November he wrote to Professor Gutteridge admitting he had converted ,£2OO of tho money entrusted to him for alterations to the grounds to his own use. Tho same dav he absconded and went to Monaco. Extradition proceedings were opened against him, and he spent some three months in French prisons before being taken to England
