HE NEEDED HELP. A visitor on -e said to a little boy: “Jim, is your mother home?” “N-no.” said James. “She is in town shopping.” “When will she he back?” asked the caller. Jimmy, looking down the hall, called out, “Muwer, what will I say now?” “What weapon does the earth most resemble?”—“A revolver!” (Sent in by Ivor Roberts, Ngaio.) .... NOT MUCH! Englishman: “Can't you get down, Paddy?” Paddy: “Shure, I can’t!” Englishman: “Well, come down the wav you went up.” Paddy: “Shure, an’ I won't! I came up head first.” Small boy to fishmonger: “Have you any dry fish?” Fishmonger: “Yes, my lad.” Small boy (as he makes for the door): “Well, give them a drink.” (Sent in by Jean Roberts. City.)
