HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE
THE VETERANS OF VARIETY. Tile main attraction at His Majesty’s Theatre this week is the popular Veterans of Variety, who.have returned again', to delight Wellington audiences with popular old-time song;' that were first sung on the stage thirty or forty years ago. Mr G.> Campbell gives “The Man Who Broke the Bank at Monte Carlo. ’’ Miss Lily Burnand, “Two Little Girls in Blue,”'and Miss Florence Hinton. “Goodbye Mignonette.” Mr Arthur Slater gains the audience’s applause with his “Whistting Bowery Boy,* 1 and <{ Th© Belle op New York.'” Jake Friedman is the comedian of the company, and amuses the audience greatly with an imagm-' ary opera, in which he portrays all the characters most comically. At the request of the artist, the audience in almost ev<>ry case join m the refrain of the ■ old songs. In the first half of the bill is Rayua Carbette, a Russian singer, Hebe Kesslova, an excellent gipsy violinist. Drew and Remains are popular with their cheery patter, and Signor Palmetto’s voice is heard in several well-received numbers Lome, Lance pnd Company four clever juveniles, give an excellent turn which includes vocal and instrumental numbers. , .
