SATURDAY’S PROGRAMME CREATES (GREAT INTEREST FESTIVAL AT TOWN HALL JUDGES ACCORD HUGH PjSJMSE TO CHILDREN’S EFFORTS

The considerable interest manifested by the publib in the festival of the Wellington Competitions Society was again, exemplified on 1 Saturday, when good attendances were present through out the day session, while at the evening performance the Town flail 'was crowded. Saturday’s sessions were characterised by a great number cf children’s classes, ana in sdl these the youthful competitors attained ’a" very high standard, many of - the recalls especially showing ' - promising talent. Bennett North said that Miss Kathleen Chappie was the possessor of a sweet voice, although rather husky in the middle register. Her intonation was good, also her facial expression. Miss Kathleen Bartosh showed good intonation and more animation than any other competitor. However, her voice was rather husky, and needed more forward production.
