DIAMONDS GETTING OUT OF DANGER ZONE
The position in the League championship still retains interest at both ends, as by defeating Y.M. on Saturday Marist still have eyes on the leadership, although if it comes to goal averages the honours will be with Hospital. Institute, the only team to defeat Hospital in the League, have yet to meet them once more, and if they can'repeat the performance will have done something that no other club has managed to do this season. At the bottom of the table Diamonds improved their position by defeating Institute, rather to the surprise of the latter. Diamonds are gradually emerging from the danger zone. The New Zealand Council allowed Diamonds’ appeal and referred the matter back to the W.F.A., as the W.F.A. had dealt with the question of Guest’s transfer under the council rule and not under the Icoal rule. The W.F. A. may now refer the whole case to the New Zealand Council to deal with. CHAMPIONSHIP. Marist 3 Y.M.C.A 2 Diamonds 2 Institute 0 FRIENDLIES Thistle 3 H.M.S. Dunedin A 3 Waterside 2 H.M.S.
