A TRICK TO TRY
Obtain a small bottle with square shoulders, such as a medicine bottle, and a long straw. Now ask a friend if he can lift the bottle with the straw, and after a moment or so he will be sure to say that it cannot be done. But it is really quite easy to do it. First bend up the end of the straw, as shown in the first sketch, and then slip the doubled end into the neck of the bottle. When it is far enough in the bent-up end will act like a hook, catching under the shoulder of the bottle, Slid you will be able to life the bottle by the straw without any difficulty.
