RISE IN FREIGHT RATES

ADELAIDE TO AUCKLAND PRODUCE AFFECTED. Per Press Association AUCKLAND, August 17. An increase in freight rates on wheat, oats, maize, pollard, and b raa from Adelaide to Auckland is announced by the Union Steam Ship Company. The freight on bran is to be raised from 35s to 45s a ton, on pollard fi cm 30s to 40s, and on wheat/ oats, and maize from 30s to 365. The increase is to take effect cn October Ist, and is attributed to the lack of return cargoes from Auckland to Adelaide. Y '
