DRUNKEN MOTORIST
FINED AND LICENSE SUSPENDED POLICE CHARGES. Mr E. Page, S.M., dealt with police cases in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday as follow: Leslie John Blackbourn, a shipping clerk, aged 23, appeared on remand to answer a charge of being found in charge of a motor-car while in a state of intoxication at 12.20 a.m. on the morning of August 12th. Blackbourn, on behalf of whom Mr J. J. McGrath made a plea for leniency and for the suppression of the name, was convicted and fined £lO, and his driver’s license was suspended for six months. His Worship refused the application for the suppression of the name. William Robert Wade Higham, described as a coppersmith, aged 27, on a charge of obscene exposure, was convicted and sentenced to two months’ imprisonment with hard labour.
