PIONEER OF PROGRESS
A number of very interesting agrictiltural shows are being held all over Britain this year. Agricultural exports agree that the great improvement in various classes of British livestock since tho beginning of last century is largely due to these shows. Jim shows have helped to raise the quality of such produce as butter, pheese, fruit, honey und so on. Practically every farmer in Britain attends at least one of these shows year and sees not only what other practical men mre doing, but also the latest developments in scientific agriculture. oldest British agricultural as lociation and one of the pioneers of the show movement is the Bath and •Weivt of England Agricultural Sowhich was founded in 1777. Seven years later the Highland Society of Scotland was formed. It changed its name to the Flighland and Agricultural Society of Scotland la 1834.
