“THE NEW COMMANDMENT. * * Sum up nil the essentials of a great photo-drama and one gets an idea of “The New Commandment,” a sparkling society melodrama, now showing at the Paramount Theatre. Blanche Sweet, Ben Lyon, Holbrook Blinn, Diana Iyane. Dorothy Cummings. PedrP De Cordova, Effie Shannon ani George Conner enact the various roles in “The New Commandment.” And all are seen at their best. “The New Commandment” is Robert T. Kane’s initial production for First National release and it is a personal triumph. Howard Higgin is responsible for the marvellous direction of the picture, which is a screen adaptation from Colonel Frederick Palmer’s great novel, “Invisible Wounds.” A variety of scenery is offered m this Production, and it is Robert T. first picture for First National. Some of the scenes are laid on L/onrr Island, others in New York, while not a few -are filmed around the- picturesone chateau of an old French estate. Th* supporting film* s*-e quite un to the standard of the stai film, and pleasant music played bv th« Paramount orchestra completes the programme.
