QUEEN’S THEATRE
MOVIES AMD VAUDEVILLE. | Delightful vaudeville items and an attractive screen programme are pleas-., ingly associated in the current bill at the Queen’s Theatre. The film production, “The Road to Glory,’’ is an. intensely absorbing drama of folly in a jazz-mad age, a most fascinating and at times charminlgly humorous story being • enacted against some of the most luxurious and gorgeous settings ever incorporated in a motion picture. Miss McAvoy is supported By a particularly well-chosen oast which includes Leslie Fenton Rookliffe Fellowes, Ford Sterling, Milla Davenport, and John Mao Sweeney. It deals dramatically with the part Chance plays in human lives, and possesses an effective climax. Mr Joe Knoweley is again to the tore in presenting as the opening scene c ’’stage” part of the programme the “Spanish Shawl Parade”—a gorgeous ballet achievement in which a number of liis pupils participate, with gorgeous effects. Miss Margaret O Connor, with her partner, contribute two exhibition dances. Miss TJna Smith is heard in two song numbers while Miss Dorothy White and Mr Ted Parlett, in a tango. Miss E.‘ Colwell’s skipping” dance, Marieane Holceta’s operatic dance, and Miss Busby’s Russian dance are all deftly interptrehated and prove deservedly popular. *
