FAITH HEALING

METHODISTS UNFAVOURABLE work forTthe DOCTOR. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. MELBOURNE, June 24. The Methodist Church of Australia, in a statement defining its attitude towards faith-healing, says that the sick should look to the physician and not the clergyman to perform the duty of physician and surgeon. The Methodist Conference considers that a declaration of the attitude of the Methodist Church should be made “in view of the advance in our midst of Christian Science, so-called, and because of the deep interest evidenced in the past three years in Divine healing.” The conference declares its faith in prayers for tho sick, hut says that no prayer should he offered unless intercession is first made for repentance ami for the cleansing power of God’s Holy Spirit.
