As previously reported in this paper, the Aberdeen, Blue Funnel, and White Star Lines have entered into an arrangement to modify their services between Australia and England* via South Africa. The first saloon services will be undertaken by the Aberdeen liners Euripedes, Themißtocles, and Demosthenes, and the Blue Funnel steamers Nestor, Ulysses, An- , cliises, and Ascanius, and the intermediate services will be provided by the White Star Line cabin ships Ceramic, Seuvic, and Medic. All vessels will make Fremantle their last port of coll in Australia, and will call at Durban. Capetown, and the Canary Islands Homewards. Outwards they will omit Durban and Fremantle, sailing from Capetown direct to Albany. The first sailing under It© new timetable will be the Ascanius, from Sydney, on August 16th. The new arrangement will offer greater facilities "to travellers who prefer the Cape route, providing a more comprehensive timetable than hitherto, and a greater regularity of sailings. As a further convenience, it has been arranged that. passengers from New Zealand may secure accommodation and take out tickets by any steamers of the joint service, either through any of the Aberdeen or While Star Line agents or Blue Funnel agents. These may also he had on application to any agent of the Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company, Limited. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., are the local representatives of the Aberdeen and White Star Lines, and Messrs Murray. Roberts and Co., Ltd., are agents for the Blue Funnel Line. Passages will now be booked by these two firms for any steamer of the joint service, also by Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., who hold with them the joint agency for Wellington of the Shaw, Savill and Albion Co., Ltd.
