KING’S BIRTHDAY

NO TROOPING OF THE COLOURS GUARDS ON STRIKE DUTY. Reuter’s Telegram. LONDON, June 3. The usual picturesque feature of the King’b birthday celebrations, the trooping of the colours on the Horso Guards Parade, was omitted, to-day. The ceremony was cancelled in consequenoe of the strike, the dislocation of business, and the scattering of the Guards on duty in various parts of the country. The Royal celebration of the event, in accordance with custom, was confined to a family luncheon party. Cablegrams of congratulation were received from all parts of the world pt Buckingham Palace, outside wlitcii the crowd was larger than usual.
