YESTERDAY’S SITTING ASSAULTING A CONSTABLE LEVEL CROSSING BREACHES Police and summons cases were dealt with before Mr E. Page, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court yesterday as follow : Thomas O’Hara, a labourer, charged with the theft of a bicycle valued at £B, the property of Sidney Howgill, was convicted and fined £lO, in default one month’s imprisonment. . Arthur William Gillesbi, aged . 16 years 5 months/ who admitted the theit of miscellaneous foodstuffs to a total value of 18s lOd, the property of Hill .Brothers, was convicted, and ordered to came up for sentence when called upon within twelve months.' May Matthews, for making a false declaration to a Tnilwny official in regard to the age of another passenger, was fined £2. Frederick Charles Gregory, found 01
licensed premises after hours, was convicted and fined £2. Michael McGuirk, convicted of entering an hotel while prohibited, was fined £2. Dorothy Hail, alias Dewsbury, a domestic, aged bo, who admitted the theft of a wristlet watch, valued at los, the property of Emily Nicholas, .was convicted and discharged. Patrick Jepson, for assaulting Constable Kusseil in the execution of his duty, was fined £5, in default fourteen days' imprisonment. For a breach of Ids prohibition order, Jepson was fined 10s, while for a second offence of drunkenness and for using indecent language he was convicted and discharged. LEVEL CROSSING BREACHES Thomas Alfred Dodson, charged with broaches of the motor regulations in regard to the Treiitham level crossing, was convicted and fined £l. Transvaal Walter Exton, similarly charged in regard to the Main Hutt road crossing at Pctone was convicted and fined £2.
