CHARGE AGAINST MOTORIST TRAM PASSENGER INJURED. Per p-*-:* AUCKLAND, June 4. A charge of recklessly driving a mo-tor-car and causing injury to Mrs Beatrice Pomery in New North read on Apytl 3rd, was preferred against George Yinceht, in the Police Court to-dav. It was stated that Mrs Pomery had just alighted from a tramear when she was struck by th© righthand mudguard ‘of Vincent’s motorcar. The sneed of the car was estimated at 30 miles an hour. It was alleged the motor-car did not reduce speed and did not puli up after the accident. Constable- Annis said he saw the accused soon after the accident. The accused told him he had no. knowledge of the accident. He was then under the influence of liquor. In. reply to counsel witness said the accused could have taken liquor after the ncciddnt. The AcCus©d pleaded not guilty.. «Td was committed to the Supremo Court for trial.
