CRICKET COUNCIL MEET

PROPOSED TOURS ALLCOTT AWARDED REDPATH CUP. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, May 27. It was announced at the quarterly meeting of the delegates of the New Zealand Cricket Council that the Redpath Cup was awarded to C. A. Allcott, of Auckland, for the mott meritorious performances during the season. The council expects shortly to receive South Australia’s acceptance ot an invitation to send a team to the Dominion. Sir Arthur Sims arrived in London two days ago, and news as to the Marylebone Club’s views respecting a proposed visit of a New Zealand team is expected shortly. The secretary reported that the loss on the Australian tour had been reduced to £686, and the council’s funds were £B7O in credit. A notice of motion was given on behalf of Auckland for tho annual meeting to amend the Plunket Shield rules to permit professional coaches playing.
