SHORT COURSE
IN AGRICULTURAL EDUCATION WOULD BE POPULAR. “It is gratifying to all farmers to know that one more step towards the establishment of an agricultural college lias been made, and it is sincerely hoped by all that the site will be definitely decided upon soon and the establishment of the college commenced,” said Air W. Perry, president of tho Royal Agricultural Society of New Zealand, last evening. “Wherever the site is decided upon there will be ma-iy parochial complaints and protests, but the Government can be relied upon to make a decision which in the best interests of the Dominion. But the establishing of an agricultural college ii not going to solve the farm labour question. I am of the opinion that if a short course of intense tiaining in practical agricultural work were mado available at a small fee to the youth of the Dominion, it would be taken advantage of by many, and the cost to the country would not be oeavy.’*
