The report to the Council of the League of Nations on the administration of Nauru has been tabled in the House of Representatives. Tho Administrator replies to questions addressed to him by the League on the subject of slavery by stating that slavery does not exist on the island. There is, therefore, no necessity to take any steps to ensuro its suppression. No particular legislation had been enacted, die said, to ensure the prohibition of forced labour, but forced labour for any purpose, even for public works and services, was not permitted.
