At the Stadium on Saturday night Eddie Butcher (Iffst 241 b) outpointed fssy Tanner (lOst in a contest of 29 rounds. Tho fight was very even throughout; Butcher came out on top as a boxer. Tanner seemed to nurse his right hand in order to end matters early, and lie nearly succeeded in doing so in tho eighth round, and again in the thirteenth, when with a heavy right swing to tho jaw he dropped Butcher for nine seconds.
