Vengeance of “Spirit-Double” on Intruders

It has long been held that the mummies of the Kings of Egypt were guarded by a force which brought death to those who broke the silence of the tomb. The question is now raised again by the sudden end of another of the excavators of Tutankhamen’s resting place, and the information below throws an amazing light on this belief.

WHAT is th© mysteridhs power which is said to be operating with fatal results on those- who have taken part in the excavation of Tutankhamen’s tomb in th© Valley of Kings? This question is raised by the recent death in mysterious circumstances of M. Georges Benedite, the director of Egyptian antiquities at the Louvre Museum, who assisted in the unearthing of the tomb. Dr. Mardufl, a distinguished Orientalist, is positive that M. Benedite is a victim of th© living powers of the dead Pharaoh. “Tho death of Benedite did not surprise me at all,” he says. “There occurred at tho same time, the death ot another Egyptologist, M. Casanova,

of the College d© France. Both these men had taken part in the excavations in the Valley of the Kings.
