DIRECTOR OF AGRICULTURE
TASMANIAN APPOINTMENT
By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright. HOBART, April 26. The Premier, Mr J. A. Lyons, has announced that Mr Frank Ernest Ward, of New Zealand, has been appointed Director of Agriculture in Tasmania. Mr Ward is a Tasmanian by birth, but has been in New Zealand for several years. Mr Ward is a member of the staff of the Department, of Agriculture in New Zealand, and at the present time is an instructor in agriculture in the Canterbury district. He is 35 years of age. joining the -department in 1920 ns instructor in agriculture in Wellington, he Roon distinguished himself as a capable officer, and the fallowing year ho was transferred to Christchnreh, where he has been ever since. An official of the Department of Agriculture stated that Mr Ward was held in very high regard, his work having been exceedingly satisfactory, and although gratified that he had received such an appointment, the department would be very sorry to lose hie sesvipea.
