Messrs Joseph Nathan and Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London house, dated April 16th, 1926: —“New Zealand butter, 172 s to 1735; New Zealand white cheese, 945; coloured cheese, 955. Both markets quiet." BANK OF NEW ZEALAND CABLE The Bank of New Zealand (produce idepartment) has received the following advice from its London office, under date 16th instant:— “Butter—Slow. 172 s to 174 s per cwt. “Cheese—Slow. White. 94s to 95s per cwt* coloured, 95s to 965. “Frozen meat—The supply of wether mutton is more than sufficient to meet demand, and the market is inclined to bo weaker. There is only a poor demand for ewes. The market for lamb is firm and moderate business has been done. There is no demand for beef. SYDNEY WOOL SALES FINE LINES A SHADE DEARER • COMPETITION AGAIN KEEN. By Telearaph.—Press Assn. —Copyright (Received April 19, 11.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, April 19. The wool sales were resumed. There was keen general competition. The market underwent no material change from the March rates, but any even lines of fine quality were a shade dearer, and there was also a hardening tendency for brokens and pieces. Comebacks and crossbreds were firm at late rates. Greasy merino sold to 28$d. STOCK SALE REPORT Mr H. Ernest Leighton reports that at the clearance sale held at Taita on account of Mrs E. Candy there was a good attendance and everything was sold. For cows in milk tho prices realised from £l4 10s to ,C 4 10s; out-of-profit cows £2 5s to £4 10s; six months old calvers £1«
