TO-NIGHT’S TOURNAMENT XROWERN ~AND JAMITO. The keenest of interest is being taken in to-night’s tournament at the Town Hall,' when the principal attraction is the professional contest between Trowern and Jamito. This will be the latter’S initial appearance in the Dominion, and patrons of the sport arc particularly anxious to see him in action. Since the plan opened last week the demand for tickets lias established a record for the association, and seating accommodation will be severely taxed to provido sitting room for the largo number who will want to see the popular Filipino opposed to such a virile and aggressive boxer such as Trowern has proved himself to ho. Intending patrons should note that a limited number of tickets will be available this morning. Holders of reserved seats and early door tickets will be studying their own convenience and assisting the management by making a point of attending at the Town Mali as early ns possible. Doors will open at 7 o’cloek. while tickets for whatever accommodation is available will be on sale at 7.15. PAUL DEMSKY BEATEN Private advice has been received that Paul Demsky was beaten on points last week at Manila by Tenario Pelkey. This is the second occasion on which Demsky has been defeated by the Filipino. Their first, meeting was at Brisbane, when tho contest went the full riventy rounds, and Pelkey won on points. cyclonicTboxing CASEY WINS ON POINTS. Per Press Association. WESTPORT. April 18. At MiUerton, last evening, Casey (Australia) met Elmour (France) in a 15-ronnd professonal bout, which went tho full distance, and was won by Casey on points, Casey being the fighter and Elmour the boxer. It wns a moet stirring contest, almost every round being of cyclonic pace. Casey was the more aggressive, but Elmour was Very effective with a straight left. It was a hardfought battle, in which Uren displayed more science than Williams. STEWART KNOCKED OUT (Received April IS, 5.5 p.m.) MELBOURNE, April 18. At tho Stadium Len Johnson knocked out AIL Stewart in the nineteenth round of an uninteresting contest.
