NEARING THREE MILLIONS
EXHIBITION .VISITORS £25 FOR THE LUCKY PERSON. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, April 18. Six special trains from various districts between Christchurch and Invercargill brought- hundreds of one-day excursionists to the exhibition on Saturday. Great interest was aroused by the winning of the first prize of five pounds for the 2,750,000 th visitor, as was proved by the huge attendance or 40,185. The prize was won about seven o’clock by D. Herbert, a railway employee, of Alosgiel, a married man with three children, whose wife is totally blind. As the great attendance is now at 2,762,987, the second prize of five pounds for the 2.800,000 th visitor will probably be claimed on Tuesday night. The three millionth visitor will receive £25. Fifty pupils from Westport schools Will be leaving at the week-end for the Dunedin Exhibition.—Press Association.
