ABDUCTION CHARGE

YOUTH AND GIRL FOUND SLEEPING IN SCRUB. Per Press Association. TAIHAPE, April 17. Early this monring the policeaarrested Clarence Amos Woods, aged 21, on a charge of having abducted a girl aged 11 years and 9 months from her homo at Winiata on Wednesday night. Woods was seen riding a horse towards Taihape late at nrght with the girl behind him, and a large 6wag in front. No trace of the fugitives was found till early this morning, when they were found askep in the scrub 55 miles from Taihape on the Napier road, having covered that distance on horseback since Wednesday night. The police covered ever a hundred miles of the district in search. Woods now is being brought into Taihape by the police.
