EMPRESS THEATRE
TWO EXCELLENT FILMS. “Tracked in the Snow Country,” the melodramatic Warner Bros.’ classic of tho screen, which opens at the Empress Theatre, has some remarkable scenic effects. There are beautiful outdoor snov scenes that were made at Truckee, in Northern California; against which Rin-Tin-Tin, popular canine star, enacts some thrilling incidents in the story. “Tracked in the Snow Country” &et& forth a sequence of intensely dramatic events which transpire in the Far North. It is the story of a battle for tremendous wealth as represented by a. rich gold mine. June Marlowe, admittedly one of the most beautiful giris now appearing before the camera, has the leading feminine role ? playing op* posite David Butler. Mitchell Lewis, celebrated for his parts of this particular class, is the deep-dyed villain. Also screening is “The Trouble With Wives,” the story of a young married couple whose romance of life is almostwrecked by a gossiping friend. Finally the friend appears with the other woman in the case as his wife and differences vanish. Florence Vidor and Tom Moore are the stars'. The supporting items are well up to the standard of the star films* and Mr M. Dixon and his orchestra will contribute some splendid musical items.
