' . ; l ... > i NOTICE OF SPECIAL .OBDF3L'/ TVTOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at 1* a Special Meeting of the Eastbourne Borough Council, held on MABCH 12th, 1926, the following resolution was. passed: Whereas .it is proposed that, the. ..Wellington City Council, the Petono Borough Council, the Lower 1 Hntt Borough’ Council, the Eastbourne Borough Council, the Johnsonville Town Board, the Upper Hutt Borough Council, the Hutt County Council,• and the Makara County Council should make himilar by-laws in relation to heavy traffic,- that license fees should f, be collected only by the Wellington' City' Council, and that such fees should be apportioned amongst the above-mentioned local authorities in proportion to their contributions to the maintenance of the Hntt road under the provisions of the Hntt Bond Act, 1915. Now, therefore, the Eastbourne Borough Council in exercise of the powers vested in it by the Municipal Corporations. Act, 1920, and its amendments, and .particnlarly in exercise of the powers vested, in it by section 855 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the Public Works Act, 1908, and its amendments, and particularly the Publio Works Amendment Act, 1921, and in pursuance and exercise of every other authority or power enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes by Special Order the following By-law : , The short title of 'this By-law id the Eastbourne Borough Heavy Traffic By-law, 1926, and it shall be read together with'and form part of tho Eastbourne Borough General By-law, 1922. The object and purport of the By-law are:—. . , ~x'' 1. To define heavy traffic; 2. To provide for the licensing by thft Wellington City Council of vehicled engaged ip heavy traffic on any street within the Borough of Eastbourne, and the licence fees to be paid in respect of various* classes of vehicles.' 3. To provide that every license so issued shall extend to and be available within the districts of the- Wellington City Council, the Jtotone Borough Council, Lower Hutt Borough Council, Eastbourne Borough Council, ’ Johnsonville Town Board, Upper Hutt Borough Council, Hutt County . Council, and Makara County’ Council! i. To provide that the Wellington City Council shall collect all license fees and to provide the method of distribution of such fees amongst the said local authorities. 5. To regulate and control generally vehicles engaged in heavy traffic on any street within the Borough ’of Eastbourne. , 6. To repeal Clauses to 56 of the East* bourne Bo rough General By-law,, 1922, so far as they relate to traction engines and motor wagons. • .' \ 7.
