The newspapers publish details of a scheme which the Government is said to be considering for a national appeal for patriotic voluntary subscriptions to pav off France’s debts. The nucleus of the movement would be a so-called Committee of National Propaganda; presided over .by on 4 of France’s heroes, whose panic is synonymous with victory. The committee would be non-political and non-party, and would appeal throughout Jffie country for voluntary subscriptions. “Le Journal” says that the financial ball will be set rolling by the Government members themselves. Every penny of the proceeds will be devoted to paying off debts as early as possible. ~ '
