SAILORS’ FRIEND SOCIETY

Tuesday’s concert, given by Miss Josephs, to seafarers at the Sailors’ Friend Society was as bright and happy ns any of its predecessors, and was full of encores. The performers were the Misses Brown Josephs, Tolley, Davies, Gifford, Heighton, Bird, and Messrs Saxton, Daisley, and Hamilton. Miss Bird was at the piano. Mr James Moore, missioner, spoke on “What I Dug from tho Press.” Men again enrolled as abstainers. The Mesdames Flnnnagan and Fram donated the prizes for the competitions, which were productive of much pleasure. The prizes were won by men from tho Cumberland, Rotorua, and Athenic.
