SIR JAMES PARR
A FAREWELL LCNCHEO*. Representatives of university and general education in Canterbury are making arrangements to farewell Sir James Parr, Minister for Education, on the eve of his departure for London to take over the post of High Commissioner. It is proposed to invite the Minister to Christchurch on April 14th. to be the guest of education administrators and school representatives at a complimentary luncheon. A committee is heinsj formed, with Mr H. D. Arlnnd, chairman of the Canterbury College Board of Governors. as convener, to organise an adequate send-off to a Minister whnfj record of service for ■‘duration h 0 been a notable one.
