INTOXICATED MOTORIST CANCELLATION OF LICENSE ORDERED DEBARRED FOR TWELVE MONTHS Charged with being in charge of a motor-car while in a state of intoxication, Joseph O’Neill, a labourer, aged 33 years, appeared before Mr C. R. Orr-Walker, S.M., in tho Magistrate’s Court yesterday morning. Defendant domed having had a previous conviction at Leeston in 1.921, of driving a hors© and vehicle while in a state of intoxication. Tho magistrate convicted O’Neill, and sentenced him to seven days’ imprisonment with hard labour. His Worship further ordered that O’Neill’s license be cancelled* and that he bo prohibited from bolding a driver’s license for a further period of twelve months. An application for the suppression of defendant’s name was refused.
