KHANDALLAH

PROGRESSIVE ASSOCIATION A meeting of the executive committee was held on Tuesday last, Air M. O. | Vralloway in the chair. Correspondence was received from the town clerk in connection with improvements to the swimming bath, repairs to the roads in Khandallah, additional street lights, admission of small children to the paddling pool free of charge, re-naming the southern portion of Jubilee road, and removal of gorse near Town Hall. The replies received were considered satisfactory. The Bell ’Bus Company wrote stating its intention to further improve the present ’bus service to Khandallah. At the written request of a resident of South Jubilee road, it was decided to communicate with the town clerk again in connection with the renaming of that road. It was resolved that Messrs Galloway, Heay and Rule be a deputation to the Mayor urging the necessity of improvements to the Kaiwarra Gorge road, also of a better access to Khandallah; also that Messrs Galloway,. Brooker, and Ffitch wait on the Mayor in connection with tree-planting round the swimming bath. The secretary was instructed to prepare (for presentation to the City Council) a list showing the most urgent works required undertaking in the district, the report to be considered at the next committee meeting.
