SHOCKING ACCIDENT

KNOCKED FROM ENGINE. i’er Press Association , GORE, March 10. M. Hntt, fireman on a WyndhamDunedin excursion train this morning got on to the tender to prepare to fill the water tank, as the train pulled into the Gore station, and his head struck an overhead bridge. He was knocked under the train, and two vehicles passed over his body, which was terribly mangled. The deceased was a married man; with one child, and had been transferred from Timaru only three weeks ago.
