WEEK-END PICNIC

GATHERING APT HUTT PARK WORKINGMEN’S CLUB. The annual picnio of the Petone Workingmen’s Club and Literary Institute was held on Saturday, at the Hutt Park racecourse, when about 1500 people had a most enjoyable day. A large measure of praise is due to the picnio committee, under the chair* manship of Mr W. J. Burk, and especially to the secretary, Mr P. Pitcher, who had all arrangements working without a hitch. The sports programme was taken a keen interest in, and some very close finishes; were witnessed.. The Petone Municipal Band was in attendance, and the yaried programme of music was much appreciated.
