FALKINER ROBBED On the eve of his departure fo-r England from Bombay, Mr Claude Falkiner, the billiards player, was robbed of about £2OO in valuables and money. He says he went to an hotel in Bombay, where he placed the contents of his pockets, consisting of English money, diamonds, and rupees, on his dressing-room table before taking his bath, A servant, whom he had engaged in Ceylon five weeks previously, was in the room at the time. After his batn he called for this servant, but got no answer and then discovered his loss. The servant had disappeared.

He was charged with breaking into a public house in Paisley road, W., and stealing 64 bottles of whisky, two bottles of wine, and 395. Sentence of six months’ imprisonment with hard labour, was imposed.
