SERIOUS MOTOR CHASH
RESULT OF BURST TYRE SIX PERSONS INJURED. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND,' January 23. Just before midnight, a seven-seater motor-car travelling to Auckland skidded when turning a corner at Papakura and crashed into a telegraph post, and was badly wrecked. Six • injured passengers were conveyed
to the Auckland Hospital. Harry Booth, 38, sustained injuries to the head, and his condition is serious. Richard O’Shea, 27, has a compound fracture of the tibia and general abrasions. Mrs Bertha Mercer, 30, has head injuries and facial abrasions; she is improving. Mrs Elve Robinson, 28, had cuts on the face which necessitated stitching. The driver, T. Mercer, sustained a slight cut over the eye. The mishap was caused by the bursting/ of a rear tyre. A later message states that Harrv Kingston Booth died on ' Saturday evening, and that Miss Alice Olsen, who was also injured, is reported to he la a serious condition.
