CHRISTMAS GREETINGS

SAN FRANCISCO TO WELLINGTON Mr James Rolph, Mayor of San Francisco, made many friends in Wellington when he visited the capital city some time back. That he has forgotten neither Wellington nor friends is proved by a cable received by Mr W. B. Mcllveney, Commissioner of Police for New Zealand, on Christmas Day. Mr Rolph, in tendering his congratulations to the new commissioner on his promotion to the responsible position, refers to the many friends he urade in the Dominion, particularly in Wellington, and conveys to theip_ hi* cordial greetings and best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year. This sentiment is heartily re- - ciprocated, for Mayor Rolph has proved a true friend to many New Zealanders in and passing through 'San Francisco.
