RUAPEHU ARRIVES. An arrival in the stream at Wellington at 4.15 p.m. yesterday was the New Zealand /Shipping Company's liner Ruapehu from/London and Southampton, via Panama find Pitcairn Island. The Ruapehu, sailed from London at .4 a.m. on November 19th and' arrived at Southampton at 7.30 p.m. , the same day, where passengers and mails were .taken on board. She left again at;.2.15 p.m. the following day. for Colon uiul reached there at 2.30 a.m. on December sth. The Canal was entered at 6.30 a.m. and' Balboa "was reached at 2.30 p.m. later in the day, -While the Ruapehu was coaling the passengers went ashore for a few hours, the vessel sailing again at 9.55 p.m; the same day. Pitcairn Island was reached at 1.30 a.m. on December 17th, and after exchanging fruit, etc., with the Islanders, the Ruapehu stood on her way to Wellington, which was reached as above. ' Except for December 23rd and 24th, when the vessel experienced a hard westerly breeze and rough seas; the voyage out was an extreniely fine one. This is the 54th voyage the Ruapehu has made and is the fastest one yet, the vessel averaging 13 knots. The usual dances, concerts, etc., were held, while on Christmas Day the children had their Christmas tree, which was well loaded with all goqd things. The passenger list was published in these columns last Tuesday.

Trotman; refrigerating engineers, Messrs J. S. Keehu and W. J, Ward; elcctrfcan, Mr R. H. James; wireless operators, Messrs C. H. Pennington, L. F. Corbett, D. R. Hoyle; steward-in-charge, Mr R. A. Whitaker. The Ruapehu is expected to leave Wellington on. Saturday for Port Chalmers, where she completes her discharge of cargo. .i
