Mr and Mrs J. A. Grant, of Palmerston North, are spending the holidays at Lyall Bay. Mr and Mrs Charles Wilson intend leaving for a visit .to America and England sqme time in April. The Misses Joyce, of Day’s Bay, are spending the holidays in Nelson. The Misses Greenwood, -of Murltai, have gone to Taranaki for the holidays. Mr and Mrs <?. R. Davidson, of Wellington, are staying in Christchurch. . ' Mrs Maurice Denniston and Miss E. Denniston, lower Hutt, are at present in Christchurch. Mrs George Bishop, of Wellington, is the guest of Mis John Deans, “Homebush,” Canterbury, for the Christmas holidays. Misses Mona and Esther Kermode, of “Ravensbourne, 1 ' Fitzgerald Avenue, Christchurch, are in Wellington. Mr and Mrs M. h. Oram, of Palmerston North, are spending the Christmas and New Year holidays with Sirs Oram’s people at Day’s Bay. Dr. and Mrs Louisson, of Christchurch, are the guests of Mr and Mrs Charles Louisson in • Palmerston North. Mr Louisson is president of the Man&watu Racing Club.
Miss Jean Johnston, who has been living in Wellington for the last few years, left by the Maunganui en route,. to England to join her mother. Sir John and Lady Findlay, are at the Hermitage, Mt. Cook, for" Christmas. , , Mr and Mrs Meek, and Mt and Mrs Stevenson! of _ Wellington, are spending the . holidays at Mouht Cook. f Mrs W. 8. Miss Margaret Malfroy (Wellington) is- in Christchurch for the holidays, and will stay with Mrs Arthur Chapman (Knowles street.) Mr and Mrs J. A. Flesher, :at Christchurch, took up their duties, as host and hostess at the Canterbury Court at the exhibition till January 2nd. Afterwards they intend taking a motor tripto Invercargill, returning north through Central Otago. Miss H. Lorimer, of Nelson College, has gone to the West Coast on holiday. Mr and Mrs J. H. Gilrjver, of Blackball, accompanied by Miss Lola Levings, have loft for Wellington, en route to Australia, oh an extended holiday. . Mr and Mrs T. O. Price, of Wellington, are visiting' Tiinaru and staying at The Bungalow, Wai-iti road. Mr and Mrs R. Kennedy, of Tahora, are in Wellington on holiday. Mr and Mrs Corkili, of Oriental Bay, have their three sons and daugh-ters-in-law with them, for Christmas. This is the first time their family thave been together for fifteen years. Mrs Ivan Blackmore (Wellington) and her two childreh jare visiting relatives in Christchurch. , • 7 Miss Stella Murray intends leaving Christmhurch,' en route for . London, early in the New Year. ,7 Mr and Mrs C. W. Free, of Masterton, are paying a visit to Christchurch. Mrs C. Stewart and the Misses C. and D. Stewart, Miss E. Lockie and MiBS K. Withy, all of Wellington, are amongst the holiday visitors to the South Island. , Mr and; Mrs Raymond Carr, Miss K. Redmond,, and Mr and Mrs S. Blackley are Wellington visitors to Christchurch. Mrs Bollard, wife of the Hen. R. F. Bollard, Minister for Internal Affairs, who, with Miss Madge, Bollard, has been spending n holiday in Australia, returned by the s.s. Maunganui.
Sir Andrew and Lady Russell arrived in Hastings on Wednesday, after their sojourn in England. Mrs Barnes,, 'of Kelburn, Wellington, with her small daughter, is visiting her mother, Mrs J. E. Garland,. Hillsborough, Christchurch. Mrs Charles Gray and daughter, formerly of Wellington, but how_ resident in Sydney, are paying a visit tb Christchurch and are staying with Mrs A. May, Konini road, Riccarton. Mrs Gray intends visiting' the' West Coast before returning to Sydney. Dr. and Mrs Prendegast _ Knighthave returned from a short visit to Christchurch. ' : Mr and . Mrs Gilman, of Wellington. Have gone south for the holidays., Miss /A. Cousins is also a holiday visitor .to the South Island. Mrs Kelsey, of Hastings, has taken a house in Wellington for -a few weeks, and with her son and daughter left by car at the beginning of the week. Mrs W. Maddison, senr., and her two grandchildren have returned to Wellington from' Hastings. [ Mr and Mrs Nelson Fowler and Miss Sybil Fowler, of Hastings, are on an extended visit to Wellington.
