THOMPSON BROS.’ STOCK TO BE SOLD BY AUCTION / Messrs Thompson. Bros*, general merchants, whose ©took suffered by water in th© fire in their warehouse on Wednesday evening, will hold a biff sale by auction # merchandise, general grocery, and confectionery lines, much of which was only ©lightly damaged by the water from the fir© (which was confined, to a crockery firm’s premised on the top floor). Th© good© to be sold, entirely without reserve, include 1500 bags of sugar, five Lons of flour, three tons of sago, throe tons of tapioca, five ton© of rice, one ton of cornflour; besides heavy lines of soap, n*aearoni, dates, matches, and pollard. Theta ie also ,£6OOO worth of confectionery, of well-known standard lines*, to be sold to the highest bidder. Buyers should note that the merchandise and grocery lines iviU be SQjd at ill a.m., and the confectionery at 1 p.m. to-morrow.
