SAILING REGATTA

WINIFRED’S GOOD WIN Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, December 2V. Macandrew Bay annual regatta was held on Boxing Day, under ideal conditions. A big programme of events was disposed of. The principal event waß a race between 44-footers, in which wour boats that contest the Sanders Cup trials competed. The wind was from the Bouth-west, and light and fickle at times. Heather led for about half a lap of the course after the start, but lona sailed into the lead before the boats hauled on the wind and maintained the lend until nearing the mark up harbour, when she lost wind and was overhauled by Winifred and Heather, which carried light wind. Winifred vyon easily, while only a few seconds separated lona and Heather, the latter being awarded second place. Ivia Ora crossed the line with Heather, but was disqualified through fouling the channel post.
