The attendance to date at the Government Cinema Hall at the Dunedin Exhibition is 51,230. The films, especially those dealing with New Zealand subjects, are much appreciated by the public. Last evening the City Council granted the request ofc the Wellington Tramway Employees' Union for the use of the Irani cars on Christmas Day, when the tramway employees annual picnic will he held.
Mr R. D. Sproggon, who has been on the staff of the National Provident and Friendly Societies. Department for the post twenty yenrs; wub the recipient of a presentation from his fellow officers on leaving the department on Tuesday last The presentation was made by the Superintendent (Mr A. T. Traversi), who referred to the able and willing services rendered by Mr Spraggon during hie long connection with the department. Mr G. S. Nicoll also expressed his own and the staff's regret at the loss of a capable and popular officer. As befitted one who had been the life and soul of many official social functions, the departing officer was entertained in the evening by his fellow officers.
