(Received December 8, 9.5 p.m.) LONDON}- December 8. A charabanc which had taken a party of fourteen from Woburn Sands to Bletchley was five miles from the end of its return journey when it crashed into the railway gates and overturned. An express from Cambridge almost simultaneously dashed into the wreckage. The night was dark, but without fog. The roads were slippery owing to the thaw. Harrowing scenes followed. Lamps were brought from the cottages, and the injured were extricated with difficulty, and placed in the guard’s van of the colliding train, where doctors rendered first air while the train was going to Bedford. Three men and three women were killed. They, were so mutilated as to he unrecognisable. The police were still searching at midnight for handbags and articles by which they might he identified. The driver was seriously injured. A child had a miraculous escape, being picked up within inches of a ►heel of the train. ‘
