BUY NEW ZEALAND GOODS

INDUSTRIAL WEEK SUGGESTED NEW SLOGAN ON POSTAL MATTER. With a desire to stimulating the purchasing of New Zealand-made goods, iho Wellington Provincial Industrial Association yesterday discussed the suggestion of one of its members that .a New Zealand week, together with an extensive advertising campaign be held in the city, and that during that week, retailers be asked to display entirely Dominion manufactured goods. Prizes would also be offered for the best dressed window, and school children would be asked to write essays on the best window, giving reason why it was the best. The'suggestion was greeted with approval by members, and the association decided "to spend £250 in this direction, a sub-committee being delegated to arrange details and present a report to the February meeting of the association.

It was reported that the association had arranged to have the stamp marking motto changed at the G.P.0., and that before Christmas, the new slogans: "Know your own country first; buy only New Zealand-made goods,”would be imprinted on letters passing through the office.
