The Pacific Cable Board discussed at length a report by Sir Timothy Coghth« management and business ot Australia and New Zealand particularly with reference to the proposal to appoint a general manager for Australia and New Zealand. The board practically decided upon an appointee, but the name cannot be disclosed, pending reference to Australia. The Canadian imtnog'io was not considered. The general opinion is that H is dying a natural death, owing to the fact that the Hon. Charles Murphve pronouncement so tar has not teen endorsed b.v his colleagues in the Canadian Government.
