A "CHAMBERLAIN” CLOCK
.Wax mannequins for males in the Paris Exhibition have a decided resemblance to Mr Austen Chamberlain. There is something of a parallel for this kind of flattery in the Chamber* lain family. : In 1903,' the late Mr Joseph Chamberlain was very much in the limelight, in connection with his tariff reform advocacy, a Bavarian clockmaker produced a clock surmounted with a figure of Chamberlain making a speech, which emerged when the clock struck. . Someone bought a sample of this new clock and brought it to England, with the result that - the enterprising manufacturer received an order for 22,000 clocks.
