CLAIM DISALLOWED
MOTOR COLLISION AFTERMATH The sequel, to. a motor lorry - collision which occurred in Waterloo quay in March last, was heard in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday, when Allen and Son,. merchants, claimed £125 damages from the Crown. Mr H. F. Johnston represented the plaintiff, while Mr C. H. Taylor appeared on behalf of the Crown. , - The evidence submitted’ hy the prosecution was to the effect that when the plaintiff’s lorry was being driven a\ong Waterloo quay it collided with a Railway Department lorry which crossed Waterloo quay from the direction, of the Ferry wharf. The plaintiff alleged that the Railway Department’s lorry had been negligently driven. Mr C. if. Taylor, for the defence, submitted that if there, had been negligence displayed by the driver of the Railway Department's lorry, there had been contributing negligence on the part of the plaintiff's driver. The judgment given by the magistrate, Mr W. G. Riddell, S.M., was in favour of the Crown.
