AN UNANSWERABLE ARGUMENT
Which sense is the more to be valued —the senSo Of taste or the sense of smell ? When this topic was recently argued by a New York debating society members turned up in force to express their views. But the encounter was destined to be brief and the victory decisive. For 20 minutes the champion of noses hammered in argument. Then came the turn of liis opponent. “Give me a whisky and soda.” lie commanded. nnd, to the general surprise of the “dry" assemblage, it was promptly forthcoming. Raiding the to his lips, the debater swallowed -the contents at a gulp, and then, with an eloquent gesture in the direction of his opponent, nassed over the equity glass with the laconic remark. “Nmr. small it!"
